Not sure what the WTF is for the Linux Installer - other than perhaps a strange choice of name for one of the specific sub-steps of the entire install process.
'Install the System' comes after 'Partition the hard drive', 'Choose the optional programs' and before 'Configure the System'.

Yeah, that
debian-installer
is primitive where error handling is concerned, if that red screen pops up, the next step for me is to hit Alt-F4 to flip over to virtual terminal 4 where a log of the install is kept, and try to figure out what happened there.
