@PaulaBean still seems to be AWOL...
Discussion for the article: http://thedailywtf.com/articles/jack-and-the-beanstalk
Paging @apapadimoulis...

Dangit, @mark_bowytz!
At least the article itself was pretty good.

Something tells me the GUI is a huge WTF, too...

Creative article... But Delphi is, and always has been, an OO language.... so the idea that you are forced to stick all your code into button click events is not true...
So really, the lesson here is the age old "Idiot developers develop idiotic code", or, as usual, TRWTF is a person
Still actively developing in Delphi 5 here.... (though I'd rather not be of course....)

Dink'ed the dink. Linked ALL THE THINGS to Discourse. (just one actually)

Array? No such Object: File Not Found.

The front page still says 0 comments for each article... (Seems fixed now.)

Thank you :D
By which I actually mean they couldn't afford decent programmers ;)

This brings back bad memories of an invisible TForm full of textboxes and TStringGrids storing stringly-typed global variables.

Article quote: That's right: The tiny method had grown until it was 700 lines long! Not only that, but it had attracted friends: 60,000 lines in total, all squished into a few button events. And so Jack went off in search of an axe with which to prune his massive garden...
Forget the axe...bring the blowtorch! Or at least some HNO3...

So he added some variables to his code, then when he came back the next day his code was changed into different code? I can see why you used the magic theme. Because things don't work like that.
The only thing I can think of, is the author meant 'code generator' but accidentally typed 'variables'. Or Delphi is actually magic.
I have no idea how adding 'var something' to your code can then go on to magically add 60,000 lines to your code overnight. What did I miss here?

2014.08.18.... not so much then. ;-)

For values of "next day" that mean "a year later" and "magic" that mean "coworkers", you've got the gist of it :)

Was that character chosen at random, or does it have any relevant meaning? Google translate doesn't.
Admin
It's a combination of the topic number and your posts' number. Because one or the other wasn't anything interesting.
Admin
Ah, just whatever Unicode character happens to fit? Did you run the decimal digits all together, or did you treat those two numbers as two sixteen-bit integers and pack 'em into a 32-bit number or what? Inquiring minds are pretending to want to know.

Dammit...meant to reply, not edit the original...
A convention started in the Likes thread to indicate actual Liking likes.
Looking at what it was:

You had post 15 on topic 6887. I'll let you take it from there.
