Got this working by trying it in IE7. I absolutely couldn't get it to work in Firefox v2.0.0.9, the 1 key just wouldn't start the game. Unfortunately, in IE7 the up and down keys scroll the page up and down as well as moving the sprite! Back to WASD I guess. Still, thanks for this, really great job.

there's a good reason for this: each browser has its own version of the Flash plugin. It's not like you have "Flash" installed on your system with each browser using it (a la acrobat). The plugin is flash, and you need to make sure each browser has the latest version of it from adobe.

exactly the same behavior here, cannot start game and display is garbled after a while of trying to run it

Sorry to come so late, but by the way, that was the very process by which DK was "ported" to Atari. So that makes this version an authentic Flash port, moreso than if it used the original code and docs!
