Haha! I know why the email shows the place holder for the name. The first curly brace is a different color. This means there's html between the curly braces, preventing the parser from doing it's thing.

I like how we now know that an RS-485 interface is used somewhere in the control of that sign. Because that's so much more helpful to know than the time of the next train.
"IP Address = DISABLED" probably actually means that the configuration inside the sign or its interface box got reset. It is likely old enough to use a battery backup and the battery has worn out.
It's no wonder that commuter train is having problems with time, as it is apparently going "88" miles per hour.
