A genuinely clever ad, right here on The Daily WTF, was what got me to apply at my current job. It was for a QA job, so they did this whole "A Team" parody for the "QA Team". "do you love it when a test plan comes together?" etc. I was looking for a developer job, not QA, but the ad was funny enough for me to email inquiring about dev openings.

I think I remember seeing this sort of "code" in a presentation but was a bio of the guy doing it.

Now that I think about it I kind of filter companies too. When I send my CV I do with a short link to a GDrive document. If they reply asking for it in .doc I know I don't want to work there.

Nice find. I came across this: http://pastebin.com/FBnRGDs4, which is even closer than the one in the submission but not anonymized (can I post this, ethically?). I'm not into doxxing, so I'll not post a link to the bugger that is behind the bad copy-paste. (Left as an exercise to the reader)

Code's not nearly enterprisey enough. Could do with a couple dozen interfaces and factories ;)

Mostly when I'm asked for a CV it's by a recruiter. I would be suspicious if one of them was capable of exporting a GDrive doc too a .doc

I have been tempted in the past to send it as a PDF, having seen how much some recruiters change your CV

Eh, PDF editing software is not uncommon.

For maximum security, print it, then photograph on a wooden table.

    Solution: Encrypted PDFs!

I know where the Bad Ideas thread is…

this is what i do. I send them an edit locked PDF (you need actual adobe acrobat to create that, or fiddle with the PDF in linux)

if they ask for it in a different format i tell them to take a long walk off a short pier because you are not changing my CV for me. if it needs changing you can bloody well talk with me about the changes and why you want them made. and if i agree then the change will be made.

i am not walking into an interview where the recruiter changed my skills to be expert in Oracle DB because that's what the job wants and i had experience with MSSQL on my CV. </rant>

I've never had a recruiter change my CV without my knowledge. In fact, I've never had a recruiter change my CV.

Maybe British recruiters are more honest than US recruiters…
