Well at least if there are multiple commands that have the same name, they are assured to be called, right? Also, no early breakout from the loop, because we want to make sure we get all commands that match that name!
A Spam-protection bot, eh? I might take a look-see and see if I can port some of that into mine...

At 15 I knew C++ better than I knew XML.

I see that I'm a newcomer, having only learned a programming language at 17, months before getting into university.

Do kids still do IRC bots as "my first real programming project"? I think that died off after my generation or so. :)

My first programming project was an inventory control system for a small store where my mom worked, I didn't learn about IRC until I started playing minecraft.
Guess kids do minecraft mods those days.

I modded my Ti-83+ for CPU boost, external power (CPU boost drains power faster!), and wireless comm to the serial adapter. Gave it to a cousin to use for a class and it never returned. Now I only have a dusty Ti-89 Titanium, but I don't mess around on that one as much since I have the Emu on my phone...
Admin
I rebodied my TI89 as a TI83+. Because the 89 wasn't permitted for exams and the 83 was.

My first computer was a TRS-80. My second was a Heathkit. Don't remember the model.
