    "Over 150K+"

Wording brought to you by the department for redundancy department.

  • RobyMcAndrew (unregistered)

But I need some of my servers located in a separate universe for redundancy !

  • Richard (unregistered)

Re: 150K I can see that it says how many facebook, twitter and g+ users they have (presumably some of which may be the same person using the different type of media), but the fact that does not add up to 150k doesn't mean they don't have over 150k email addresses in their database. So...WTF is the WTF?

  • Quite (unregistered) in reply to Pete

Not familiar with that department, is it part of the department for superfluous redundancy department office?

  • kktkkr (unregistered)

[glares in direction of internet) What is WRONG with you, internet?

Re: MyOVH / VPS / Universe.

Sigh. This is not the WTF you think it is. It's just weak translation from French to English.

(Trust me, the French aren't as good at English as they think they are. They'd probably say that I'm not as good at French as I think I am, except that I *know* I'm far from perfect at French, even after seven years living in a place populated entirely by French-speaking foreigners.(1))

    (1) You'd probably say that makes me the foreigner, but I can't be a foreigner, see, because I'm English. There are two kinds of people in this world, my friend, the English and the foreigners.

Apparently it has its origins in a Firesign Theater album. (Don't crush that dwarf, hand me the pliers)

Not a surprise, Linux advocates are always throwing out ridiculously inflated numbers when trying to promote its popularity.

Maybe in your universe, non-English folk are foreigners. But in the professional gaming universe, non-Koreans are foreigners.

Just be sure to protect against cross-universe scripting attacks.

Who cares about the limited unlimited plan, let's talk about how creepy that fox is.

  • Ulysses (unregistered) in reply to Steve_The_Cynic

The French are right about the English. Good moaning. :-P

Nice to know Twitter will still be able to function despite Internet problems.

Re: Over 150K+ The struggle is real. Facebook keeps telling me if I promote my post I can reach 72,000 people in my home town. Interesting, as that is approximately 20 times the current population of my home town.

  • Kevin Jordan (google)

My guess on the Amazon WTF is that that's another seller and Amazon is out of the 2-packs.

  • Loren Pechtel (google) in reply to Kevin Jordan

Or Amazon itself never even sold the 2-packs. The mix of different sellers means you have to be careful with quantities, I've seen many times a third-party seller of a larger pack was more expensive.

  • Lazerbaems (unregistered) in reply to Pete

They're just really excited about how many users they have.. "Can you think of a number OVER 150k? Ok, great.. now imagine this.. our number is even BIGGER!"

  • _that_guy_ (unregistered) in reply to Lazerbaems

    150,002!

  • Internet (unregistered) in reply to kktkkr

    It's a loooooooooooong story ...

  • Foo AKA Fooo (unregistered)

At frist when I read "Tinksky Place Cards Table Name Cards Name Tags fo...", I thought that was the WTF (like, missing variable substitutions, "table name" as in SQL etc.) until I realized that's a typical article "description" these days, i.e. an unreadable mess of keywords.

Eric wrote, "With your help, you can make their '150k dream' come true."

What's the problem there? We don't know how many email subscriptions they have, at least not from the screenshot given, so what are you complaining about?

  • Lurch (unregistered)

    Nope. Not good enough.

I have seen 3 Error'd's now with full mobile screenshots including buttons and notification bars. Either pack it in and do it properly or show full screenshots from desktops with the entire screen and taskbar shown.

Or don't, whatever. I'm sure you're not bothered if I unsubscribe.

The Amazon place cards offer almost makes me want to shell out the $300...just to see what happens next.

  • omgmoodle (unregistered)

Moodle is dreadfully bad software. Truly awful. Bad enough to break the Internet.

  • John Wiltshire (github) in reply to Steve_The_Cynic

There are two kinds of people in this world, my friend, the English and the foreigners. You forgot "colonials". Those people that are clearly English, but not real English!
