Nice to read that, I actually have a dayfly project from last year in my repo, that provides a small desktop reader, which remembers the articles you already read for you. I just created it, because I discovered the site, when it already had quite a few articles and now I don't know, which of them I didn't read yet. I wanted to have a sequential method to read all articles from the beginning on, when I had the time or just pull a random non-read article. I did everything with web scraping, but that API looks like a much better way to do that (although the scraping works well).
The problem I had with it, was that it looked quite ugly and reading a web site with a java tool just feels wrong...
Does anyone have an idea for my initial problem (reading new articles without digging through 140 months)? Otherwise I feel like I will revive that project with the new API, just to try that.

Well I'm nearing the 40s. And in our country (as has been established today by the statistics bureau) women do not bother with technology. In my highschool years Internet was something like leprosy towards girls. My now wife and her friends were absolutely convinced that it would blow over. Just like my BBS hobby (that was atleast correct).

When I first started reading TDWTF I read articles both forwards but also backwards from the point that I first discovered it. Sadly this broke at a previous redesign because all the links changed and I had no easy way of finding out which article I'd last read. (Since then the disk that held the history of the browser that I was using at the time has died anyway.)
