Unusible comment port (LPTfrist)
Admin
What's with all the redaction in the first one?
Admin
I get the feeling to avoid copyright/trademark issues. Fair use of logos can for parody or criticism. This article is doing so to the website, not the toy maker, so to err on the side of caution...
Admin
Searching for the item number, the truck is called "Yiddish Toys Hachnosas Sefer Torah Toy Truck" and there doesn't appear to be any logos, but I can't really make out what's supposed to be on the side of the truck

"Catastrophic failure" describes almost every day of mine.
Addendum 2018-08-03 08:08: I can relate to Excel.
Admin
I googled the model, and the Sears page is down, but Amazon lists it as unavailable.
I hope I don't get banned for revealing that it's the Yiddish Toys Hachnosas Sefer Torah Toy Truck. https://www.amazon.ca/Hachnosas-Sefer-Torah-Truck-Yiddish/dp/B00YBCE3EM
Admin
While the product has been removed from the Sears website, it's still on the Google cache—as "Yiddish Toys Hachnosas Sefer Torah Toy Truck - Sears".

Requirements list for Unusable Port:
I see nothing wrong with this line of reasoning.
Admin
Perhaps the port was fact usable, and that was the problem.
Admin
The unusable port is completely normal - the card doesn't contain the hardware for the parallel port, but since the card uses a standard I/O chip which includes parallel port support, you need to include some kind of driver or the card will create spurious IRQs and use up 100% CPU in Windows. Linux doesn't require such a driver.

Who's Alicia
Admin
That's wrong. (Under any version of Windows known to me including 95 and 98) Unknown device will not create any such problem you described. Main problem is, that it can prevent entering some of ACPI S-states.
Admin
I imagine the support ticket: "I can't use my unusable parallel port." And the answer: "Working as intended."
Admin
I was assuming the redacted part on the truck had something to do with bust size.
Admin
"Truck Bust"
Is this brought to us by the same company that made "Truck Nutz"?

Hey, I consider Excel the only good product Microsoft has ever produced. At least of all the MS products I use daily. They should really sell it as a standalone product on every OS.
PS: One of the bus images in the reCAPTCHA looks like it's one of the buses here in Hawaii.

"Catastrophic failure". Some bit of Excel actually broke off?
Admin
"old" and "PCI-e" put together makes me cry old man tears :-( I still remember ISA serial cards with DIP switches to set the IO and IRQ values.
Admin
So you obviously don't know Windows 10. I do neither, but I've read enough about it to be rather hesitant to switch to it. Just one example: https://www.techradar.com/how-to/windows-10-fall-creators-update-problems-how-to-fix-them

I see that Mike S. is using Xcode.

She's the ruler of the world. I think Microsoft tried to head-hunt her at one point but she was busy shooting down soldiers.
