    The "Lyckades" one seems like the millionth iteration of the classic C / Unix bug when someone uses "if a syscall returns -1 (meaning an error happened) use errno to generate an error message" with a syscall that does not set errno.

    I suspect the downgrade is not a bug, but rather that the newer version is buggy. The checker is probably looking at timestamps, not version numbers. Many years ago I wrote a loader that worked that way--it was a very small program that almost never needed to be updated, it scanned the target for the file with the most recent stamp and ran that. In most cases that made it extremely easy to revert to an older version and without having to deal with file locks.

    It's a corporate compliance thing. If corporate mandates GP version 4.8, and someone connects with a 5.x, you can either politely requets they downgrade or reject the connection.

    Internally it's generally not an issue as GP versions go upwards, and staff get their GP version from the corporate firewall.

    As a PANW consultant though, I'll pretty much always find my verison of GP out of touch with a customers current version. High-security customers can choose to reject the connection entirely. Most opt for the 'polite warning' seen above, especially as it's the default selection.

    The text could probably be better, to indicate WHY the use should downgrade, but it's not a WTF to allow an Enterprise to force compliance with a given version of a line-of-business application

    In the first example, isn't the TWTF that the text is in English, but the "error" code and buttons are in Swedish?
