"Soooo," Aske Olsson wondered, "what kind of box is this?"

It's a so called messagebox and not a dialog box - unfortunately this is a big difference in Lotus Notes

I suspect that if you chose that security question they wouldn't actually validate that you put in a digit between 1 and 100 they'd probably save the text just like they would for the other options so in theory you should be able to enter any number of digits up to the length of the string they store.
I'm sure Jon could have picked three question at random and put "Blue. No, yellow." as the answer to all of them. Then it wouldn't much matter what someone who wanted to (say) register him for all of the sociology modules knew about him.

And yet, the fan I bought a few months ago (a normal fan with an on off switch) came with a SEVEN PAGE instruction.
Of course it did! Do you realize how many people have died because they went to sleep with the fan on?

I bought a rather pricey Hyundai fan a couple of years ago, and after using it less than 50 times, it died.

I intend to never buy a Hyundai product again. Even if it doesn't kill you, it may leave you sore.

Well, let's hope he or she wasn't. Ever heard the English of today's youngsters?

I don't see how it could have an odd number of pages. Was one of them a Moebius strip or something?

    How about 42!

    That's your answer to everything.

Of course. It's the answer to life, the universe and everything.

Damn. Now I have to change all my passwords.

It's not the answer to life the universe and everything, its the answer to the ultimate question, and no person can know the both the answer and the question at the same time, such is the nature of the universe.

PS: the real WTF is Alex's captcha db. Secundum - an opening in the upper part of the developing embryonic interatrial septum corresponding to the foramen ovale of the fetus.

Actually IT ISN'T. Did you people ever READ the book?

42 may have been the answer, but it was the WRONG answer. THAT was the WHOLE POINT.

Actually 42 is the answer to life, the universe, and everything. Calculate it on Google Calculator if you don't know for sure!

Other scientific and/or mathematical stuff will also tell you this answer (I have calculated it from various results of other mathematical and scientific stuff, other people have also done that), although it is much more complicated to do this, rather than to just using Google Calculator.

Actually... the number of real numbers between 1 and 100 does not have to be infinite... There might be a restriction about the amount of characters you can use, and then there is the memory limit. So basically the number of real numbers between 1 and 100 is very finite indeed!

Memory error dialog boxes are often pre-created before programmes execute so that they can be displayed in situations where memory is scarce.
