    Виртулис:
Most websites tend to work the same way on all computers, except maybe if you're using IE or some crippling addons like NoScript or Adblock.
NoScript has over 2 million users. https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/noscript/ But I guess you know more than all of them, right?

Two-thirds of all web sites have cross-site scripting vulnerabilities. These can be used to steal your identity. Disabling scripts is pretty much your only defense. Unless you're going to do a full vulnerability scan on every site before you use it -- but oops that would be illegal.

earlier, i received an emailing asking for for the address to ship the mug to. but now, i just received an email from newrelic with the subject: [b]The Helicopter is yours![b]

and in the body it says:

    Hey there,

It looks like you really want that RC Helicopter. We really want you to have it as well. All you need to do now is tell us where you want the helicopter shipped.

Go here and tell us your address and we will get that shipped out to you.

not that i mind... but that's a real WTF...

"I'm sorry, an error has occured."

If they can't sort out a simple form like that, or spell their error messages correctly, it doesn't fill me with confidence in their product.

    My thoughts exactly.

Thanks! I gave it a whirl, and it reminds me a lot of MATLAB's code profiler, where you can see exactly what is taking up resources in your code (and enhance it!). Definitely useful for both production and development environments alike.

Now I have a nifty tool and a mug to look forward to using; thanks again for enabling those of us who are TDWTF-mug challenged to live normal lives.

Hi everyone: Patrick from New Relic here. For all you that signed up, we will send an email with a link to an address form. Please know that you have to have access to your server to deploy the code for our service and be eligible for the mug. The instructions appear after you signed up.

Thanks! Be on the lookout for that email in a few hours when our marketing guys get to the office in San Francisco!

    Thanks!

    Patrick Vice president New relic

Bah! For the Microsoft free mug deal, we just had to give them a throwaway email address and our postal address, and then wait for the free trial of whatever-it-was to expire. I never even logged in.

Although, what's this about an RC helicopter?

  • Jeremy (unregistered) in reply to Patrick from New Relic

We've been using it for a while and it does provide some good information, so those of you wondering whether it's worth it it probably is.

I'll manage to get a mug one day.

Apparently I'm going to get a TDWTF mug and a $25 Amazon voucher.

Do you actually get a confirmation mail that they've got your address? Also, am I still on time?

CAPTCHA: eros. I <3 TDWTF mugs!

    Виртулис:
Okay, I signed up and deployed (really took just a few minutes, so no idea what's the complaints about, maybe a pebkac?:)

Or maybe they don't give any real indications on how to solve issues that arise. I got an error and error code that don't exist in their online help.

Given I'm only doing this for a free mug and the chance to maybe give a company money if I like the product, I'm not spending MY time contacting support. They can keep the $2 mug.

You guys did well. Sounds like I'm getting a fondue set. :(

    Patrick

I had a thedailywtf.com mug and someone in my office broke it. We already use newrelic and are planning on using it more. Do you think you could find it in your heart to send me one? I filled out the form and requested one. My email used on the form matches this pattern t*@d*ipe.com.

  • (cs)

Just picked up a package from the post office. It was from New Relic. It was a remote control helicopter.

Don't get me wrong. Who wouldn't like to get a free remote control helicopter? But... What happened to the mugs?

  • Ryan (unregistered)

Never got the email for the address form and just saw he posted a link in here to sign up anyway, hopefully it's still available. Helicopter would be cool but I really want the mug.

New Relic doesn't seems very sensitive.

I am still waiting for my awesome TDWTF Mug, and I'm really thinking I'm gonna wait for it for all eternity...

That's really too bad cause my last will is to be buried with it. I guess my soul will wander on earth for thousands of years...

Finally the mug has arrived today ! W00t !!

It's awesome, as expected. I just have to watch out not break it or anything.

PS : This is a heck of a large mug. I can put my old mug in it (if I break the handle)

  • RB (unregistered)

@KittyKat & Excelsior : How lucky you are, I'm still waiting mine !

  • RB (unregistered)

  • Pentium100 (unregistered)

My mug has finally arrived! The stamp on the box says that it was sent on 2011-10-24 - that's a long time in transit, but it is here at last.

    Thank you.

  • Reow (unregistered)

I too will buy anyone a shitty white mug if you install my trojan on your server. Please ensure it is inside your corporate network so I can profit.
