So the TortoiseSVN dialog isn't really an error like the post says, but just a big warning about the operation you're about to perform.  So it's missing a question, but that's just grammar.

    No WTF.

The real WTF is the degrading WTF quality on DailyWTF.

Oh, so a missing question is just grammar.

The state of Florida thanks you for voting for George W. Bush again.

Or maybe the missing question was "Did you mean Switch instead of Relocate?"

you can make you own wacky weird windows pop up messages and freak somebody out here:

    <!-- google_ad_section_end --> <FORM name=err action=/error/ method=get>

Before I forget... who designed the Community Server logo? I'd like to inquire as to why the person is so happy about being surrounded by their own gaseous emissions.

Can't you see? He's trying to get out.

(meant to post this earlier, but Captcha was seriously broken under Firefox/Linux)

Actually, the default is "No". The gray coloured dotted line "Yes" is just there to confuse you further :)

Regarding paradoxon... a word it may be, but can it result to one?

And TortoiseSVN is full of unhelpful things. It installs a start menu item, that when clicked, snidely advises that you should access it via an entirely different means to every other normal program installed on your machine. Of course it could have done something helpful, perhaps bring up the Options dialogue or something, but you know... that would require usability design.

That's the way shell extensions work...
Yo know why that start menu entry is there? Because one of the FAQs on the developer list was: "How do I start TortoiseSVN, there's no start menu entry for it?" After we added that dialog, the questions were gone :-)

Currently we pop up an explorer window after showing the message, but we could also do something different:
    - bring up the options dialog
    - open the help file on the proper page, where the context menu stuff is explained
    - ...

maybe, but it does not really tell you what Yes will do or what No will do.

I agree! Its only major flaw is not actually having a question in a Yes/No dialog. Other than that, it provides excellent user assistance.

    ParkinT:

If GAIM truncated an away message of 0 bytes, what is the final size?  Half a nibble?

Does that make GAIM truly a "TWO BIT" application?

it would be 0 becuase it can't be any smaller
