    @ My university we get licenses for most software, like matlab and various compilers and IDEs. Just download from a server using your network login or check out a hard copy at the library. It's really handy, especcially as the computer labs are always crowded when you need them the most, that is the evening before the current assignment is due. The catch is that you "must uninstall the application once you are no longer a student." Yah, right...

    I thought this was common practice?

    I'll give you a WTF. I just searched for serious cat to use him as an avatar for my google wave acct, and it came up with this image, which you are linking to from MY profile avatar on a friend of mine's image forum. That's a srs glitch in the interwebs matrix.
