Missing image for the ice cream stand.
-- Ed: fixed!

Ummm, Spotted Dick is a fairly traditional English desert, school kids have been sniggering over the name for years but hardly a WTF
Admin
Shh! Nobody tell him about pork faggots.
Admin
Yep, that's the average American tourist for you...
Admin
I know that 'spotted dick' always raises a laugh from non-UK residents, but it is a very well-known traditional pudding here.
Think of a swiss roll, but using suet pastry rather than sponge, and with a 'filling' of sugar and dried fruit (usually raisins): hence 'spotted.' Originally it was cooked by steaming, but nowadays it's often baked instead.
In the UK in the 19th century, 'dick' was sometimes used as a colloquial term meaning 'pudding.' Other sources suggest that 'dick' came from the German word for 'thick' (spotted dick IS a very thick and satisfying pudding!).
Admin
In Canada they have "homo milk".
Admin
Admin
Seconded. No one over the age of about 7 even laughs at that any more.
Admin
The double entendre is part of what makes spotted dick so delicious. Drawing attention to it is banal.
Admin
There's a desert in the UK? I thought it rained a lot?
Admin
The unit testing center is closed because of too many test cases.
Admin
+1 'meh' for the Spotted Dick. We could be here all day laughing at non-tech translations of traditional products.
Admin
Don't get us started on weather, you'll never hear the end of it.
Admin
If the photo had been better he would have known what it is as the description is right there on the packaging

What happened to all the other sponsors? Has the economy crisis arrived at TDWTF now?
Admin
In Soviet Russia, bulletin board pokes you!
Admin
That's actually pretty clever. Would you expect a hacker to be war-driving in a truck with "HACKER" written on its sides?

Damn off-by-one errors. Get you everytime.

Romeo's Pizza obviously uses baker's inches.

They'd only have to show it momentarily!

Never heard of "spotted dick"? It's a traditional dessert that's over a century old. Still find "OMG" funny in any other context other than "oh my God"? What is this, pre-school?
We all know that "Sponsor Appreciation" is just a means of garnering some extra advertising revenue and that's fine by me, hope you get some extra clicks from it. But do you really need to hash out all these crap images? These are obviously Error'd rejects and if they're too poor even for Error'd (and it's amazingly low bar to entry) then please just bin them.
Having said that, I'm in a bit of a mood today. So thanks anyway.
Admin
Staples, the wood standard in length measurement.
BTW- That picture of "Romeo" is a mildly offensive Italian-American stereotype, isn't it?
Admin
Ive always liked my family's pet name for Spotted Dick; "Hackney Schmack"
Bonus points for anyone who gets the reference ;)

Oxford Media Group used to have the exclusive contract to advertise on Toronto's public trash and recycling bins, so you couldn't even walk out to the sidewalk without having an OMG moment.
The WTF Group manages a large number of Toronto's historic buildings, so you can still see a lot of signs like these around the city - http://www.flickr.com/photos/fexd/1011317668/
The trick was to find places where you could see an OMG garbage bin, a WTF building and some kind of BBQ restaurant all at the same time.
Admin
There is nothing like thick and satisfying dick.
Admin
When I was at school Spotted Dick was also known as rabbit poo with custard.
Admin
The lift isn't a WTF - the buttons use the UK floor numbering, and the labels use the US floor numbering system. It uses both standards to keep everyone happy :)
Admin
Umm yeah. HEY ALEX, cross-platform means your buildmaster crap runs on other platforms besides Windows! Stop the misleading advertisements!
Other than that, some of the images are hilarious.

Spotted Dick a WTF? The real WTF is the stupidity and childishness of the submitter's nephew, the submitter and Alex.

I heard that there were penguins around before Linux. Can we please stop associating anything penguin-like with computers? It's starting to get annoying. Thanks.

Here's one for all you Germans out there: http://www.quinnandtuites.com/images/irish_18.jpg

Wow Dilbert (Scott Adams) @ tdwtf ... epic *g
Admin
Maybe the sub outfit was smart enough to take into account that the linear measurement changes when you actually put a sub in the bag.
Admin
How is Spotted Dick a WTF?
Coming from the community of people who call their ass a fanny!
Admin
Actually, it's readily available in the markets here in Lexington, Kentucky, USA.

One should hope that they use something sensible for the room numbering like the standard: floor number = floor(room number / 100).
I suppose one could say that having the two numbers is a simplification: floor number button <= room number / 100 < floor number label. So to get to room number 312, you would hit button 3 which has the 4 next to it because 3 <= 312/100 < 4 (unless the room numbers are based on the US floor number, not the UK floor number, or some other wacky scheme, in which case you have no hope of finding the correct floor)

I'm not even British and I stopped laughing at spotted dick 20 years ago. C'mon.
Yeah, saw that. Although there was an unrelated guy with that name back in my high school too, around when that comic first came out. And many more, I'm sure.
I do like the name "Hae Yu," though.
Admin
Hence 'in the pudding club', 'bun in the oven', 'up the duff' http://www.phrases.org.uk/meanings/397300.html

Who hasn't "done" something like this?

Apparently times are tough. I hear the Linux penguin is moonlighting to make ends meet.
Admin
Not sure if you're trolling, but I'll bite: That specific penguin graphic on the van is known as Tux and it was designed with Linux in mind.
Admin
I guess I'm too old. Whenever I see OMG, I tend to think of these guys: http://www.omg.org/
I was introduced to (the concept of) "spotted dick" (as well as "drowned baby") when I read Patrick O'Brian's Aubrey/Maturin series ("Jack, you have debauched my sloth.")
Not sure I get the garlic spread. Is the poster taking "shelf stable" for a noun rather than an adjective?
I love the ice cream shop, though. Once I saw it, anyway...
Captcha: ullamcorper. That about says it all...
