    Severity One:
Another aim is to use the best tools. Oracle is a seriously powerful beast (and a bugger to use most of the time, but hey), and XML processing is one of them.
My mom once told me a story about a coworker. This person would work all day and into the night, and never seemed to get anything done.

One time at a potluck party, she came in, all proud of her macaroni salad. You see, she stuffed a tiny cube of carrot in one end of a macaroni, and a tiny cube of pepper in the other. She stuffed each macaroni in the salad. It must have taken her hours to do, but the effort wasn't much noticed or appreciated.

Whenever I hear the praises for XML, I think back to that salad.

So you're saying that XML is pretty much the same as tossing the salad?

*snort* yeah, I think that's apt.
