Umm, you're being hit up by your grand niece or you're considering hitting up your grand niece?

To the OP - if you want the stories written to your spec then you start your own site and gather submissions and post boring stories for people to read. This site takes dramatic license to make the stories more engaging and doesn't purport to be a documentary.

Or it posts crap stories like Hanzo and other bastardized pieces of tripe two days a week.

So if a cute girl wants to have sex with you, you have to reject her just because you work on the same place she studies? WTF?
Yes, that's about right. Taking advantage of a position which gives you easy access to sexually starved teens would be considered pretty unethical. Also, because parents. With pitchforks.

I think he said that he might consider hitting up his grand niece if his wife was ever in a horribly disfiguring accident.

"She asked Dave that, too. Want to know what he said?" Leighton nodded. "He said, 'What would I do, or what should I do?'"

    "You're not serious."

    "Yup. And then he laughed."

    "Really."

"He really did," said Leighton's boss. "Needless to say, the Headteacher did not."

    Oh Reginald-- I DISAGREE!! <speeds off>

Or rather, I couldn't answer honestly. But honesty seems not to be appreciated.

When someone asks you a question in an interview, they aren't going to reward you for admitting you'd do something to hurt the employer? I'm shocked.

I am the Leighton mentioned in the story. I was quite shocked to see the creative licence used when the story was added to the site but hey hum.

Just a few pointers/answers. This event happened in a High School in the North of England. I had just finished my second year of sixth form education and was starting my college course and apprenticeship. The pupils were no older than 16 years old at any time during my employment there.

I always get kind of depressed when I see these inevitable comments from submitters. How much of the story that ended up on the site is actually true?

    This ^

Has to be pointed out that if the girl in question is 16, then (as Leighton is not *technically* in a position of authority over her) any relationship they do have is not actually technically illegal.

That would depend on the location of the school.

If it was in Texas, an employee of a public school district is barred from any sexual conduct with a student no matter the age of the student. There is NO age of consent in such cases. If the student was 20 years old, it would still be illegal.

Also keep in mind that the age of consent is not the same in all places. It is 17 in Texas, not 16.

    Incomplete answer.

Texas -The age of consent is 17. The minimum age is 14 with an age differential of 3 years; thus, those who are at least 14 years of age can legally have sex with those less than 3 years older.

Not exactly. Being within 3 years is an "affirmative defense" to the charge. Rather than making the act legal for the two, it negates criminal liability for the act. In order to assert an affirmative defense requires that you admit to having committed the criminal act -- you just won't be punished.

tl;dr: if you are one of those people who has the occasional humourous thought about boinking hot 16yo's, you'll do well to keep them to yourself; almost no good can ever come of verbalising them, even in jest. Others are probably NOT going to share your mirth at the idea, ESPECIALLY when you're interviewing for a position where you'll be encountering hot 16yo's on a daily basis.

GET THIS INTO YOUR STUPID SKULL: IN BRITAIN IT IS LEGAL TO HAVE SEXUAL INTERCOURSE WITH A SIXTEEN-YEAR-OLD!

Get *this* into *your* stupid skull: not if you are in a position of trust in relation to them as defined by subsections 2-5 of section 21 of the Sexual Offenses Act 2003. It can get you up to 5 years in jail, as you will see in section 16 subsection 5.

Showing up in jeans would usually mean a quick exit from the interview, even if the working atmosphere was a very relaxed environment.

Obviously, you don't work in tech in CA. Jeans are standard attire. My last interview was in jeans and a dress shirt. No coat, no tie. Got the job.

If I interview someone wearing a coat/tie, my first impression is they must not have much experience.

A friend of mine applied for a job as system administrator. He showed up in shirt and jeans. The interviewer said: "You are very well dressed for an administrator". :)

Can't see either parents or teachers quite seeing it that way, though.

Wonder where this story came from? Could easily be Britain.

I remember the days before background checks. as a first-year university undergraduate I did some volunteer work in the local "special school" teaching slow learners to read. No checks made there. Not even any such questions at the interview.

I could go on about some of the stuff that went on between the guys in the 17-18 age group in our school and (at least) one of our female teachers, but this seems to have turned into a family site in the last few months so I won't.

I don't know the specifics but in at least a few of the states I have lived in there is a four year rule, between adults and minors. He is out of Community college so I think we can guess his age to be somewhere between 19-21 at a minimally. If she is 16 and he is over 20, that could easily be statutory rape in lots places.

Nothing like a bunch of fat sweaty IT nerds debating whether it's ok to boink a 16 year old student or not. Classy.

Who's debating? There's no debate. Ok? Absolutely. Legal? Possibly not. Possible? Ahh, who are we kidding...
