"By providing the option to 'Give up', I sense they are at least being honest with me about the state of their web site,"

Motion to add this to Discourse. All in favor?

  • (disco) in reply to Fox

Discourse is smarter than that, it will decide automatically whether to show Couldn't load that page :(. If the user wants to give up, she is advised to close the tab for performance reasons.

Also, about the signal generator one: It would have helped if the small text reading "Gasoline" were circled, it's somewhat easy to miss due to its size and color.

Then again, still need to take my first caffeine dose...

I wanna know what was going on with ReSharper.

  • (disco)

The Beatless never had any songs either. No WTF there.

I envy the Swedish - their politicians sound so reasonable and coherent!

Where can I get that edition of ReSharper? I want to make use of the enterprisey suckcessful fails too!

    Fox:
Motion to add this to Discourse.

I think they already implemented it: 502 OK

The debate one is the best Error'd since 2004.

  • (disco)

Well, at least apdflickaahabafndbhieahigkjl only HALF quit unexpectedly. The other half of the quit was expected.

  • (disco)

Since no one else has dropped the wet blanket yet: apdfllckaahabafndbhieahigkjlhalf is part of Google Drive. Its siblings are aohghmighlieiainnegkcijnfilokake, blpcfgokakmgnkcojhhkbfbldkacnbeo, coobgpohoikkiipiblmjeljniedjpjpf, and pjkljhegncpnkpknbcohdijeoejaedia.

I thought those were CCs for the last U.S. GOP debate.

I'm trying to figure out that if the subtitles were real, would it improve or worsen political discourse? Maybe at least upgrade it to "useless, but harmless"!?

  • (disco)

The theoretical physics one can be explained, they're using quantum physics to implement the seminar search and "something something, wave function of the search algorithm is collapsing to return the result set"

  • (disco)

The "Give Up" button is probably just there because the site was coded in INTERCAL.

  • (disco) in reply to foobar

This appears to be true: the first hit on https://chrome.google.com/webstore/search/apdfllckaahabafndbhieahigkjlhalf is for Google Drive, not to mention various other hits for apdfllckaahabafndbhieahigkjlhalf on Google that point to Google Drive.

In any case, I’d say Alaks M. is TR :WTF: for blaming the OS vendor for an error warning that is caused by a process, and then thinking, “I didn't even have anything open” as if a modern computer only runs the programs you explicitly tell it to.

  • (disco) in reply to LB_

    It was an Orwell test.

  • (disco) in reply to Gurth
    Gurth:
a modern computer only runs the programs you explicitly tell it to.

Or that you can visually see everything that is running.
