I won't be happy until Sharepoint is giving 110%

So, did the draft post work for Dustin'?

  • bvs23bkv33 (unregistered)

577 power cycles for (assuming electro) chair!

What's a "trial evaluation"? Is it where you try out an evaluation and then if it works out, you sign up for a real evaluation?

    "Now serving customer #578"

I would not have guessed that Central Maine had email yet. Or electricity.

Where's the WTF in the second one? They changed the price so people were informed. Another one for TheDailyGoodPractice.com

  • Darrick (unregistered) in reply to doubting_poster

Because the price changed from 214.90 to 215. 10 cents more for 2-year membership. 0,04% difference. And this is most likely New Zealand Dollar, so it is 6 cents in practice.

This is a good practice, sure, if your objective is to lose customers for no reason.

  • chrisb (unregistered) in reply to doubting_poster

The price went up by $0.10. Why bother?

TRWTF is anyone new using Oracle products who wasn't already locked into them

  • (nodebb)

He missed the sale - it was $214.85 a month ago!

  • P (unregistered)

I hope that sales receipt isn't a real site... Some poor dev is probably crying in a corner questioning his life choices that brought him to this point: managing a Magento store.

  • Reginald P. Smithington (unregistered) in reply to Scott

    Or news.

  • LoganDark (unregistered) in reply to doubting_poster

That needs to be a real site.

  • sizer99 (google)

TRWTF is that there is a product called 'Toad for Oracle'. I guess anything that involves dealing with Oracle is bound to be ugly, though.

According to my handy-dandy fraction recoverer (a loop based on python's fractions.Fraction.limit_denominator):

    1.044 ≈ 24/23 ≈ 95/91 ≈ 166/159 ≈ 261/250

the last of which is "exact" to the precision given, but using so few sigfigs to start with means that's not very meaningful.

I find the first output most likely, that the progress went only one step too far. Checking 25/24 and 23/22 show that they would round differently.

  • o11c (unregistered) in reply to o11c

Wait, oops, it was 104.04%, not 104.4% ...

    1.0404 ≈ 26/25 ≈ 103/99 ≈ 2601/2500

but the first of those wouldn't round like that, and the second would be four steps past. That's odd ...

  • asdfse (unregistered) in reply to o11c

Use Wolfram Alpha for that. It finds your fraction as well as other expressions that are close to it, like 1.040 ~= pi * exp(-1 + e + 1/pi - pi).

  • reCAPTCHA Robot (unregistered) in reply to doubting_poster

Exactly. Many of the same people would get angry if the monthly prices go up by that tiny bit without informing anybody.

  • Rocket J. Squirrel (unregistered) in reply to Scott

It's all squirrel-powered. Hence, the contents of the email.
