So the keyword 'path' is a reserved word in that web server's operating system and that was causing the high load issues?

Is "Representative Line" a new category?
Admin
It's a low traffic one that has so much overlap with CodeSOD that I was trying to abandon it, but this one fits too well into the category.

The path to insanity
Admin
With paths in reporting commonly anonymized like this, it's quite a puzzle. ;-)
(Hint: there's no Initech in the pathname.)
Admin
It took me a minute to get this. When it said
I didn't realise you meant the you (i.e. TDWTF) didn't anonymise it.
Admin
I'm also perplexed why it's nailthumb instead of thumbnail.
Admin
I thought not using the minified file was the WTF until I realized what exaactly you meant when oyu said "not anonymized"
Admin
Because it makes you want to stick a nail through the programmer's thumb?
Admin
big nail has hands that have thumbs...
Admin
The "path/to/" in the tutorials is meant to be replaced by the actual path to jquery, instead the programmer left it as it was and installed jquery in "path/to/" to get it to work.
Admin
Hint: The big text at the top of each Daily WTF article is intended to describe the WTF.
Admin
The category should be "Joke of the Day".
Seriously. It's one of these stories that sounds quite apocryphal, yet are sadly believable because who didn't have at least one coworker they think would have done just that?
Admin
As long as cut-and-paste is faster than typing we're gonna have that. Whether it's
/path/to/
or anything else.Admin
Maybe "dir command" + "web server" + "X:\wwwroot\path\to" == also a valid WTF?
Admin
It's probably one of those places that hire some random highschooler to "make them a homepage" for $120 total
Admin
I think it's pretty funny to create path/to - could have been done sarcastically.
