The Real WTF is the Spice Girls being considered in any way Adult music

  • (nodebb)

I think, perhaps, instead of "Reverse HTML Injection", we should all it "HTML Dejection", because when you see it happen, you feel dejected...

The generation that likes them grew up, so now it is adult muzic. That is how muzic works.

Here I am wondering what a Crgo Cam is...

Not only does the Deutsche Bahn expect Rudi to change trains at an omitted stop, they expect him to jump from platform 6 to platform 11, too!

  • (nodebb) in reply to BernieTheBernie

I don't see the problem, those numbers are like right next to each other.

  • Foo AKA Fooo (unregistered) in reply to BernieTheBernie

Well, they give you 9 minutes time to get to the jumping platform. Well, if the first train is on time, so probably not ...

But I admit I was joking about jumping on trains. Of course, they don't expect you to. -- In fact, they cut the whole first half of the 2nd train's route, so it wouldn't even come near Buchholz, so you have all the time to visit this probably beautiful town until maybe some other train passes or even stops there ...

The people of that generation who still like the Spice Girls have, by definition, not grown up.

Reminds me a bit of when I wanted to travel from London (not actually from London, but via London, but never mind) by train to Amsterdam.

I booked a Eurostar to Brussels Midi followed by a Thalys from there to Amsterdam. The journey to Brussels was completely uneventful(1), but...

Well, there's the Thalys, I'll go to my assigned seat. Bags stowed, seat taken, no problem. Wait. Announcement, first in Dutch/Flemish: "blah blah blah technische probleme blah blah". Oops. The next version of the announcement was in English, and confirmed the first, providing information about where to go to catch the NS (Dutch national railways) train also going to Amsterdam. On the most distant possible platform. Grab bag, wheel it to the stairs going down to the tunnel, and ... oops ... hump the 40 pound / 18 kilo bag down the stairs, along the full length of the tunnel, and up again. Not a fun experience.

    (1) On the return journey, I did something I thought I'd never ever have even the opportunity to do, much less the wish to do. I bought a bottle of wine from a vending machine. Well, it called itself a "24 hour supermarket", but it was really just a big vending machine with an assortment of supermarket / convenience store products, including actually-glass bottles of actual wine. I wouldn't have called it "fine wine" by any measure, but it wasn't paint stripper either, and nothing on any planet, never mind just God's green Earth, apart from a lack of money, could have stopped me from buying it.

I'm surprised Putin's latest book doesn't come with free shipping, since he's planning on being in town anyway!

  • (nodebb) in reply to Yikes

I feel cheated. I looked up the book on Amazon and it turns out it's not actually by Vladimir Putin: it's written by somebody called Rob Sears. He also wrote The Beautiful Poetry of Donald Trump and Choose Your Own Apocalypse With Kim Jong-un & Friends. Not only that, but I don't think any of these books have any discussion in them on the subject of Applescript.

OK, we use Markdown here not HTML.

My brain got stuck in a loop for five minutes with mentally using the "Coming Soon" button to show that the "Coming Soon" is going away, meaning I can't see that "Coming Soon" is going away, which means that....

Good thing I have a daemon to stop these trains of thought before they derail the whole brain.

Japan, Germany, what's the difference? They were both on the same side in World War II, weren't they?

The radio thing is funny because something similar BRICKED Mazda vehicle infotainment systems in the Seattle are a few months ago. Gizomodo: Mazda Owners Near Seattle Find Their Radios Are Permanently Stuck on NPR station KUOW. All because of the RDS (radio data system) and naming conventions and sending jpg files to display on the screen.
