Bob T should be more worried about why the app shows three days called "S".

Saturday, Somethingday and Sunday, I guess.

Not denying the dystopian aspect of the Polish app, but "zgłoś wyjątek" means "submit an exception". To whom, Kaczyński knows. Probably the devs, which is likely more effective than the courts.

    Also, fuck Elsevier.

    Hahaha that's fantastic

Duolingo has had timezone issues for a few years. Early one morning, I got my Saturday practice in whilst waiting for the taxi to the airport. Saturday shows ticked off. Sunday morning, having arrived in the US I look again. Saturday no longer ticked off, but loads of XPs on Friday.....

And what happens to Poles that have no smartphone? Or an outdated one? I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be able to install that thing on mine, if I lived there. Would I be forbidden from getting infected?

The first of those three "S" days is probably Sighday - sigh, it's almost weekend

If you don't have an Android/iPhone that can run the app, you don't have to use it. You just have to expect a lot of police visits where you'll be asked to show up in the window and wave.

Sounds like Poland forgot what it was like living in a dictatorship. Maybe the need to be invaded again to remind them.

There's literally a 'submit exception' button as the first option in that app. What's all the 'no appeals' nonsense about?

2 streaks on Duolingo. Those where the days. I am currently at 779 days. :O (I cheated a bit, sometimes setting the date on my phone back to the previous day... don't know if you could potentially cheat your way to a longer streak like this).

So what happens if you like to sleep in? I mean, if you're isolating for 10 days, you might still be sleeping when they come around to visit or to ask you to take a selfie...

Or perhaps you were doing some late night gaming sessions and got into bed at 7am?

Given the way I sleep, I can be hard to wake up...

At least Duolingo did not make the Polish app, If they had, people would have been cheating their lock-down time by messing around with their phone's date setting.

It was during the DST jump back. My guess is this: Start at midnight Saturday. Add 24 hours, which brings you to midnight Sunday. Add another 24 hours, which brings you to 11PM Sunday night, because that Sunday had 25 hours in it. What was at least as interesting to me was that only one of the two "Sundays" was giving me credit.

sounds typical of the idiot Trumpist administration currently in power in Poland

"I've done it! I quarantined for 10 days in only 2 days!"
