    Not only is Boots using the bad practice of showing detailed exceptions in production, they're also deploying builds made from one of their developer's computers instead of a CI/CD server.

    I guess this also means they do manual deployments which is probably a long multi-step process with multiple steps each of which is opportunity for the poor human involved to make a mistake.

    While I think you're very likely correct that it's a developer's machine being used to build the project, that's not necessarily the case. The build system could be running as a system account named something like BuildMachine that's configured to run the project build under its home directory. There are a few pixels bleeding out below the red redaction, but not quite enough to make an educated guess on the actual username there.

    Above the image it says "PII of the developer have been removed to protect the not so innocent", if it was something harmless like "BuildMachine" it wouldn't have had to be hidden.

    It is a personal account hence the redaction. I have checked the name on LinkedIn and it matches someone who works for a tech shop who has Boots as a client.

    Theregister seems to have had a major revamp in the last couple of months in the way stories are categorized and organised. This is certainly not the worst "feature" I've noticed
