I see, you are still into that non-SI thing. Anyway mass is arbitrary and depends on speed. This is probably from a drive-thru, where you pick up snacks really fast.

    OK, the olive drab cartoons.

Anyway, the floppy disk icon obviously means "save" while the "X" means I changed my mind.

So, just hit "save" to "delete".

Yeah, maybe that's still a WTF.

Yes, because only "old people" know what a floppy disk is.

Expecting the McDonalds employee to get the joke is stupid. They are trying to do their job, and they can't see the error on the screen. They can only see the Point of sales interface. Telepathic powers that can interpret sarcastic minds is not in the job discription.

I'm not seeing the problem with the salami. If you can't afford the full $3.99, ask the grocer if he'll sell you just one penny's worth. That should still be plenty.

It's a rounding error of course. The price per pound is less then 0.005, so the weight of the whole salami is about 678 pounds. Sufficient for a snack, but far from infinit.

Actually, it's 6 oz. It says at the top.

    Sorry, guys. :(

How observant of you, Capt. Oblivious.

Terrible news again, fellas. Alex has suddenly and unexpectedly died of an acute case of the AIDs. His wife and two small children are understandably concerned about this recent revelation. We will be pursuing the legal ramifications of this discovery, so no new articles until we hear back from legal. I'm also looking for a way to remove the "Alex's Soapbox" link.

  • np (unregistered)

The last one with the declined/approved message, I've seen similar one.

The credit card transaction was routed to a 3rd party to complete, after it failed, it returned to the main site with a "DECLINED: Your transaction has been approved, thank you for shopping at"

I'll be switching it for "Remy's Unicorns" in a few minutes. You'd better get working on some articles to tag, though, or it's your ass.

    "Really delete payment method?"

So if you click the button that actually does the save -- whichever that is -- then you delete this payment METHOD? Not delete this payment, but the payment method? So no other user can ever make a credit card payment again? How curious to give any user the ability to do that. One would think that that would be an operation reserved for system administrators.

         **ERROR**
         NO CURRENT
       ERROR CODE 94
    09:14
if there's "no current", how are you showing me this message? if "code 94" means "no current error", why tell me? i don't care what the number for error-free status is if there's "no current error code", what is the 94? if there's "no current error code 94", why are you telling me, unless you somehow ended up with error code 94? Are you trapped in a paradox of your own making?

they may have fixed it by now. i left a long time ago. TheRWhatTF may be that i was there at 09:14, but far more likely the clock was wrong. (i do have a photo and a wooden table, but sadly the printer isn't working)

  • x (unregistered) in reply to blank

There are thousands of "no current error" codes. This one is #94, custom-tailored to you, based on analysis of your prior usage. As evidenced by your apparent need to relate your harrowing story, it has achieved a very high degree of success. Perfection would result in destruction of the host machine, necessitating re-purchase; see also: PC LOAD LETTER.

This is increasingly true everyday, and at the speed of change in IT, anyone above 30 is somewhat old, with most above 45 clearly senile.

Trillian? I guess the real question is why that submission just now arrived from 2004.
Dunno, for me "Trillian" has meant Tricia McMillan ever since 1978...
Fun fact: Trillian (the chat client, which is still current - dunno why it's supposed to imply a post is from 2004?) is indeed named after Tricia McMillan. And if Leo was suggesting that Tricia McMillan was from 2004 (was that when the new Hitchhikers movie came out?) then I nominate that as the Real WTF.

For what it's worth, the "APPROVED" error message means that the card was approved, but the system rejected it for AVS/CVV reasons. I'm working on exactly that problem on our own system right now.

  • LOADING (unregistered)

The media player error is probably because encoders tend to work in blocks and don't like odd numbers. So 601 means your media file might be screwed up.

"One of these flip-flop thumbnails is far more appealing to me than the others," wrote Modano, "see if you can guess which one."

The black square is pretty appealing. We can only guess what it is hiding.

In Australia, flip-flops are called thongs. I'm assuming there was some dodgy synonym searching on the back end there.
