Cool changes, and LOL at the "name change".
In case you didn't notice, take a peek at the logo's URL. And if you're really feeling ambitious, take a look at the url with out the "_joke" prefix... http://thedailyworsethanfailure.com/Resources/Images/Primary/logo.gif
Admin
"a well-reasoned, humorous, and insightful reply"
When I tried to choose this option, I got an error, so I had to leave it blank.
you had some error in the coding, I believe it was a javascript error, tsk tsk tsk!
Admin
I though the whole name change question was that as professionals and adults we can both relate to and cope with "What the fuck" and that "Worse than failure" in no way conveys what we feel.
If I only wanted "worse than failure" I would limit my reading to the Risks List http://catless.ncl.ac.uk/risks
Admin
second. worst.namechange. ever
Admin
That's second.worst.namechange.ever(); you n00b
Admin
awww my insightful post got deleted.
anyway, The real WTF is the new WTF icon at the top:
The Daily O ^ WORSE THAN FAILURE
Excellent!
Admin
Nice... I'm going to name my next java package second.worst.namechange.ever
Or maybe to fit into the Java guidelines it should be
ever.namechange.worst, ever.namechange.worst.second, etc.
Admin
Changing the site’s name from Worse Than Failure to The Daily Worse Than Failure was the “Worst. Namechange. Ever.”, trumping not only New Coke and the AT&T to Cingular to AT&T fiasco, but also the multi-billion dollar The Daily WTF to Worse Than Failure fiasco.
Admin
Would be nice if the random article limitted itself to your current language. Sorry, I cannot read german or russian. (But #defining cOut cout does transcend language boundaries)
Admin
How exactly is adding "The Daily" in front of "Worse Than Failure" an improvement? Sure, the abbreviated name becomes "The Daily WTF" again, but it's still "Worse Than Failure".
That just does not convey what many, if not most, of the articles are about. As your survey shows, most of us just want to exclaim "WHAT THE F***?!!" when reading the articles. The only ones that I would even label "Worse Than Failure" (which I had never seen before until you renamed the site) are the articles covering large, elaborate systems that somehow manage to accomplish the task, but only in the most twisted sort of way. But, at least those still fall under the original "WTF" name.
I really don't care what the name is as I try to ignore it. In fact, I might ad-block it. But, I wanted to contribute my insight into the name problem.
Admin
This was intentional... apparently only 5.5% took their time to disable JavaScript or apply other "hacks" with similar effect.
Admin
Great changes, thanks for your work. -dan

Gives: The page isn't redirecting properly Navigator has detected that the server is redirecting the request for this address in a way that will never complete.
Admin
I can just see a future survey now:
Do you approve of the new name change?
a) yes b) no c) FILE NOT FOUND
Admin
I didn't even realise there was such a script. NoScript ftw.
Client-side input validation? WTF?
Admin
When I read some of the comments, I become convinced the name should change to "The Daily STFU"
Admin
All we need is... 3 logos. %) For thedailywtf.com -- logo with "The Daily WTF". For thedailyworsethenfailure.com and for worsethenfailure.com logo with and without "TheDaily" words. Anyone can choice, what they like, all possible WTF's implemented and FILE NOT FOUND!
p.s. I think mindreader in the CAPTCHA-generator broken...
Admin
In the spirit of this article I think this deserves a Best. Comment. Ever.
Seriously, I laughed really hard seeing the new logo!!
Admin
By re-adding "the daily" to the title you have completely misinterpreted what (I hope at least) the nay-voters think is stupid about the original name change. It's NOT about the fact that it's daily. "Worse Than Failure" is a contrived backronym and its continued use only tells us that you have no discernible spine.
PC FTL.
Admin
The real WTF (Worst Than Failure?) here is trying to please users. REAL programmers know that users don't know what's good for them, as they are all dolts.
Admin
Ah, a compromise name. I'm sure this will make everyone happy and we'll hear no more about it.
Admin
And I'm curious about the "leave this item blank" entry results distribution.
captcha: nulla, oddly appropriate
Admin
The Real WTF is the commenters taking the name change seriously.
Admin
Actually Fman's pretty hardcore, using ., the Haskell compose function operator.
Take ever, filter namechanges, sort them worst to best, and return the second.
Personally, though, I think "Worse Than Failure" is the best name to describe the content, and it's now a phrase I use often. I may be in a 5.8% minority (seriously?!), but I'm grateful the original change occurred.
Admin
Admin
What about "survey not robot proof"?
Admin
"The daily" really wasn't the bit we missed. How can you have failed to spot that?
If you're not willing to put WTF back then why ask the question?
Admin
Why do you have 2 domains pointing to the same server? If the googlebot etc, senses duplicate content you can be penalized in the index... You should set up a 301 permanent redirect for one of the domains.
Admin
so does this mean I need to get new stickers from the site? Do I have to remove the old ones? My bumper can only take so much.
Admin
The REAL WTF is people are STILL talking about this "namechange" seriously as if the first post didn't reveal that it was a joke!
Admin
"The Daily Worse Than Failure" is even worse than "Worse Than Failure".
Admin
I'd like to propose a new, new, new URL: http://thewebsiteformerlyknownasthedailywtfandworsethanfailure.com
Admin
This might have been already ask in some other comment thread, but do you intend to keep the "thedailywtf.com" domain (not that I want to have it, I'm just too lazy to update the entry in my RSS-Reader [thinking of which, while I'm typing this comment, I would have had it updated at least three times])?
Admin
Admin
seconded. I love it!!!
Admin
The Real WTF is that you don't know the difference between a prefix and a suffix.
Admin
I hereby propose the new name Worse Than Fuck.
Admin
Ah.. but how do you know that they are being serious or not? It could be possible that they are debating seriously, but only doing it for fun. For instance, my first comment was just some insight into the whole fiasco. Since the survey itself was a joke, it is blatantly obvious that the name change was an even bigger one.
Point taken.
Why stop with the bumper? You have an entire car to work with! If only I could get a picture of that truck that appears around here every now and then, I'd give you some inspiration.
FTW!

The real WTF is how many people can't even read. Come on, people, the first comment is even highlighted. Go back and read it. Closely.
Admin
Captcha: transverberro ... Now, really ... C'mon
Admin
60% of the survey takers stated that the first name change was the worst one ever. And if the are like me, then they selected that option because they preferred the original WTF name.
Now we find the named changed again and to one that (IMHO) is even more lame. And it looks like the survey results were deliberately misunderstood.
This smacks of pandering to an unamed minority rather than listening to what the majority stated. Given that ad revenue is based on a numbers game, I would say that pleasing the majority is a better business model for the long term (unless of course you feel you can easily replace the people you have annoyed)
Admin
@gabba: a compromise doesn't have to mean the best of both worlds. Example: -farmers ask for rain to help grow their stuff -the rest asks for sunshine, to enjoy the day
Compromise: -a cloudy day without rain, nobody happy.. ;)
Admin
Apparently nothing in the sidebar is best...
Admin
Here's a hint. The relevant posts are even helpfully highlighted in blue. They follow a trend...
Admin
Hahahaha holy god you people bitching about the "new name" are seriously dense. Take a look at the image URL for the "new logo"
Admin
(self reply wooo)
And hell, the FIST~~!~!~!~!~ or whatever the hell it is has all the info you need. Proof positive that you people are conditioned to not read the first post anymore. Sheesh.
Admin
same (i got a message saying it was invalid)
Admin
It was just Javascript. The people who chose it were those who disabled Javascript - probably specifically for the purpose of circumventing that particular block.
