Doesn't "doesn't exist" == "undefined" ?
In C/C++ it is quite clearly defined what NULL (even if it doesn't exist as a keyword) is, and it certainly exists. It is in fact, Nothing as the OP said (/0, 0x00 - however we express it). NULL points to a specific memory location that is known to be nothing.
When you say "doesn't exist" you seem to mean "uninitialised", but I disagree there too.
I would imagine Jave and C# have similar implementations. SQL has at least 2 nulls, so you might need to clarify which you mean to group him in there too....
