The Real WTF is Bo reading Harvey's mail. That's a federal crime, you know.
Admin
Most of these have nothing to do with computers, IT, etc. What is this? Engrish.com?
Admin
That rice cooker is not a WTF. My brother has one, it's called the Neuro Fuzzy. It actually does use fuzzy logic in determining the rice cooking time and make adjustments to temperature as it cooks.

I've seen the BSD daemon on a condom vending machine in a club. That threw me.
Admin
Who hasn't done something like this?

I'm guessing the kid's shirt should say "crappie," although that would be a rather mundane species to list among "piranha" and "octopus". And what's with the generic "fish"? I guess Engrish isn't limited to Asian countries!
Admin
Or it could have been "carp", but that's no more comparable to piranha and octopus than crappie would be.
Admin
Or, you know, crab.
Admin
Rice cooker fuzzy logic is not a WTF. Fuzzy logic is often used in temperature control as a quick solution to a non-linear problem.
Admin
It annoys the hell out of me when my colleague uses Fuzzy Logic, to mean something which has not been thought through.
Admin
More likely.
Admin
The Zojirushi Neuro Fuzzy cooks one mean pot of rice.
It's also from Japan, where "Fuzzy Logic" is a synonym for "Freaking Awesome Consumer Electronics".

Not so fast. As many of us know, there are two subspecies of freshwater crap: floaters and sinkers. Sinkers are rarely spotted in the wild and are relatively benign except when disturbed, whereas floaters are frequently observed all over the world and always dangerous in groups [usually referenced as a 'load'].
Always be wary of a load of crap, especially floaters.

I was thinking the same thing simultaneously at the same time.
Admin
Only as a beginner. Never did the advanced ports myself.

I like all africas.

Seriously? Alex is going to make fun of people for their spelling?

Good to see the general state of CS education is still poor enough that the snarky, holier than thou editors here are wholly ignorant of my highly influential contributions to control theory. At least they get to look like jack-asses because of it.
Admin
I don't like fuzzy rice. I want fluffy rice. Can I get a machine that uses fluffy logic on my rice instead?
Admin
Loser. Yes, I'm a big fat old loser, with a wet sense of humor.
Admin
I liked yesterday's wtf better.
Admin
TRWTF is your youtube links posted just fine, but Akismet thinks a link to thedailywtf is spam.

I normally love Error'd articles on Friday - the software gaffes are funny as hell. If I wanted to see this stuff I'd go to engrish.com and thereifixedit.com

Admin
Just came here to say the the Neuro Fuzzy is probably the best rice cooker out there. Not a wtf.
Admin
Carp?
Admin
If it were a Tijuana beach, crap is accurate.
Admin
TRWTF is that none of those sponsors has websites.
Admin
Families smaller than one don't need much rice.
Admin
What I want to know is whether the "Manual" light (button?) is active.
Admin
TRWTF is canada.
wait...
nvm.
Admin
TRWTF is the absolute munter Peer1 has chosen to be 'face' of their sidebar ads.

Basic Ports use Basic connectors, but as it was Advanced Port, it must be connected using Advanced methods.

Anyone who's never worked with 3rd party comms equipment.
The designers of most of this stuff always seemed to have picked pin-outs randomly, rather than following an industry standard.
This is tame by comparison to the Heath Robinson stuff I've rigged up in the past. I miss those days. More often than not you'd have the case off the equipment too, with little between you and a mains-voltage shock.

Someone has to buy those $40 cables at The Shack.

The "Please Prepay in Advance" reminds me of football announcers who remind us that the post-game show will be taking place immediately AFTER the game.
Captcha: letatio - rejoicing, joy. Don't know about that but something similar makes me pretty happy.

I like the way the mobile-server-room picture is tall enough to get a first reaction out of you before you scroll down and see what's on the bottom.

My guess is that "shark crap piranha" is meant to be a sentence. As in "never mind your little river fish; you want real badass seafood, shark crap piranha!"
Admin
There's a gas station around here with a sign at the self-service pump that says "cash customers must pre-pay first before pumping gas".
Admin
want to reach developers TRWTF?

TRWTF is news anchors. I mean, what's up with those people?

Thank you for appealing to my lowbrow sense of humor.
