"It just wouldn't still be 2020 without a new conspiracy theory."

I hate to break it to you, but the party's over. There's something about hindsight and 2020, but I forgot.

Three guests in three bedrooms....must not be the fun part of Vegas.

I'm one of the people who got that test email from HBOMax (and help blow up your inbox), which in my case, was annoying because I didn't have an active subscription at the time the email was sent.

In turn spawning an angry Twitter mob (because of course it did)

Yes, Twitter and its brethren are certainly TRWTF these days.

"In turn spawning an angry Twitter mob (because of course it did) excoriating HBO for mistreating the poor schlub, a global We Are Spartacus moment, and alack, a new conspiracy theory because, alas, of course it did. It just wouldn't still be 2020 without a new conspiracy theory."

We all now know that it's 2021 because, alas, of course, it is.

TRWTF is the website changing name to "What The Heck". My last visit here.

    2021 isn't its own year, it's DLC for 2020.

  • Edd (unregistered)

What if 2021 being DLC is an ad about streaming services bwing better?

  • (nodebb) in reply to Remy Porter

Just because we did not go anywhere for most of 2020, does not mean that year did not exist.

I love that people in the comments are arguing about what year it is now. So quintessentially 2020. Just FTR and FYI for the unmemed: it's a gag. A riff, a joke, a jape. Perhaps a whimsy but not so light-hearted as all that. What's the bon mot for a joke that isn't funny? My German is inadequate to the task.

Just as we are all still living in the eternal September, we are all still living in the never-ending story of 2020, sans flying doghorsething. When will we know that 2020 is finally behind us? As Andrew says: only in hindsight.

I for one am in the happy position to make the worst year-related joke: when the age counter ticks over for me, I'll look back on my year and say "that year was fawty indeed"

We need 20/20 vision to see when 2020 is finally over.
