As far as the advice to relax, I'm actually not getting riled up by anything people say here. If that starts to happen, I'll just leave. Right now I'm enjoying having this debate with those of you who are willing.

I had a friend and colleague who actually quit a job because it became apparent to him that he was falling rather seriously for a rather attractive female coworker. Since he was married and also loved his wife and family, the only thing he could do was leave the job and put a few hundred miles between him and the object of his desire.
I've always admired his decision to put loyalty and responsibility before, shall we say, things somewhat baser.

Funny, I didn't interpret it as that. To me, it's more 'shrill annoying thing demanding we all conform to her ideas of propriety', to which the logical response is 'make fun of her till she develops an eating disorder' (taking a page from the female playbook, here).

I think you are missing a repeat/until-loop around the push/pull-part.
CAPTCHA: genitus. I kid you not.

Only one push?
Typical male programmer...

Well, when you stare at lines of code all day, why not inject a bit of humor? (I am always tempted to and save it for my comment lines.) I say, if the code is easy to follow, who cares if the naming conventions are, well, obsessive. This article made my crappy code week better.... thank you!

Whatever. What you believe about stereotypes is irrelevant--that's your own stereotypes talking. "I know a lot of" is the classic start of a sentence in which someone is using a stereotype. Just because you know a bunch of people doesn't mean that it statistically holds up.
I would bet you make plenty of other stereotypes about people. Sensing for whatever odd reason that you might be leftist (I'm neither left nor right nor centrist, there's another stereotype, that someone who isn't a leftist must be a conservative), you no doubt stereotype religious people, corporate VPs, and European white males. Most people who claim they don't fall victim to stereotypes are flat out lying.
There are few women in software development, therefore they stand out. Any female who is anywhere near good looking is really going to stand out--particularly since a good number of programmers are immature, socially awkward, and horny males (and there's an ugly stereotype, but few people are going to refute it). That in turn feeds on itself--I have to figure many women avoid the whole industry due to this stereotype, why would someone subject themselves to working amongst a bunch of juveniles?
The problem is ignoring that there are differences between males and females, not just biologic, but also with respect to emotion, communication, and thought process. Whether that has to be is irrelevant--it is, and people who want to pretend there is no difference are part of the problem. There are a small number of female programmers. Shouldn't we try to understand why?
It's healthy to discuss differences and probe at stereotypes, and to explore why stereotypes exist. What's not healthy is to stifle such discussion or to use such stereotypes as a basis for discrimination. A forum like this where people can make a few jokes is preferable to pretending there's nothing to talk about, and thus burying the whole discussion.
"Celebrating diversity!" should include celebrations around sex, and it also means that we opine about differences.

Expecting the male to do all of the work?

If you knew Rachelle...

Titus only demoted himself because he found out Rachelle used to be a guy. :)

To quote The Big Lebowski: "He treats objects like women!"

I'm confused. Rachelle could have been his daughter's or girlfriend's or wife's name too couldn't they? Why jump to the conclusion he's infatuated with this particular Rachelle?

I love you for creating this comment. Please call me soon.

Code like this, never gets old.

//TODO: Learn that women devs are just like male devs and would really rather you don't get super creepy like the people in the story + comments
