The real WTF is "ATM machine"
Using a machine keeps things more sanitary.

Are you thinking what I am thinking?

Most definitely NSFW, might as well add spouses, relatives, kids, pets and sanity to the not safe for list.

    ATM Machine

Oh and wow, akismet is being a dick about my post.

Twenties and a receipt isn't an unusual document mixture. That's the mixture I usually get every time. An unusual document mixture would be a Bahraini passport, an autographed picture of Justin Bieber, two coupons for a free chalupa at Taco Bell, and an expired registration for a 1957 De Soto.

As it turned out, the developers had set up some "fake" user accounts for the purposes of testing, and had assigned one of those fake accounts a random SSN -- except that they'd used MY SSN. So it was true, there was already an account with my SSN, because the dumbasses used a valid SSN that belonged to one of their clients!

Call 'em up, and give them the 'ol what-for.

While you're at it, remind them that SSNs are not unique.

I'm worried about the label on the Automated ATM Machine that says "Dispense/Deposit". Basically if one hole is dispensing stuff, I'm not attracted to using that same hole to insert stuff. Maybe there are some ATM people who like that, but it just isn't my kink, you know?
Personally, I'd much rather find my body part in somebody else's database than the other way around.

Yeah, my local bank always displays that. I'm presuming to warn you that you may get some $10s as well as $20s.
At least it's not to warn that you might get 3 $20s, 2 $10s, 3 $5s, a $1 bill and couple of $2 bills when you withdraw $100.
At least that would be ok. If it gave you 5 $17s, an $11 and a $4, then it might be a good time for a warning

These document mixtures can be very dangerous. I think the ATM will get its documents from Wikileaks.

TRWTF is that a street sign is running Windows. At like 200x100 resolution. Displaying a PowerPoint presentation.

  • anon (unregistered) in reply to frits

Ok, I guess to shift blame, for my obvious ignorance, perhaps The REAL WTF is currency conversion programs that allow allow decimal values for Japanese Yen conversions.

Maybe I should have consulted with Alicia before posting that :)

  • WW (unregistered) in reply to EatenByAGrue

I lived right down the road up until about six months ago, and I think that sign was crashed in some way (Windows desktop, BSOD, etc.) more often than it was actually working. When its master computer wasn't crashed, it seemed, then the sign itself was broken in some way, like a series of its panels being out. Whatever they paid for that thing, they paid too much.

For test SSNs, use numbers that start with 722, those were reserved for Railroad workers and are typically unused.

It's obvious why the floss costs so much; "SECOND ITEM MUST BE IDENTICAL TO THE FIRST" All this means is that they clone it exactly at the register.
