My wife had just called to tell me there was a goat in our backyard. Seriously? I love goats but we live in the city/suburbs so I found it strange.

You love goats? How disgusting of you.

I, OTOH (or OTOF?), would love to see the Irish Girl again.

This better not be a April fools joke. I was hoping someone would rename the site from the INCREDIBLY inappropriate "WT*" name to something more professional. Under the new name, I would feel comfortable forwarding things to people from the site.

not really unsubscribing, for those who are apparently very literal. ..and calendar impaired.

This better not be an april fools joke. What would have been wrong with "What the fudge?" or "what the fruit?" could still keep it as thedailywtf then.

Good! And now that the color magenta has been trademarked[1], does that mean we can ditch Mandatory Fun Day, too?

  • Phantazm (unregistered) in reply to Alan

I'm sorry, but I must agree here! I think exploring more content is a COOL THING, but why the FUCK not do it with ANOTHER SITE?

A friend of mine turned me on to this site roughly a year ago, and frankly I've watched it turn from a truly "currious perversions from IT" into a damn personal "blog" for the creator(s) that seem to contain just anything they find mildly humerous.

What happened to the REAL funny content? Is there simply not enough of it to post a TRUE, FUNNY story from IT daily? (Or even every other day!?!)

In closing, I too won't bother to update my bookmark. As sad as I am to press it, the DEL key it is!

It was about time! I cannot count the occasions in which I thought "enough with the elaborate information on programming mishaps and project disasters! ME NEEDZ MO KITTENZ!" ... and then I was utterly sad to find the only emotion-bearing thing be the smiley in the logo, while my brain already started tickling in a bad way because it received unusual amounts of that so-called "intelligent humor" (which sounds nonsensical to me) on this site.

Nevermore! This really is a noble move. You should all be proud of yourselves and celebrate by purring like a cat. In public.

    And once again in context!

Um - I already do this, especially to my wife . . .

Did you mean WebsiteListFactoryListFactory.MakeWebsiteListFactoryList().GetWebsiteListFactory(0).NewWebsiteList().GetWebsiteBySpecifiers(new WebsiteSpecifier[] {new WebsiteSpecifier(WebsiteSpecifier.ByHostName, new WebsiteSpecfier.SpecifierParameter("thedailywtf.com"))}).RenameTo("The Daily WTH")?

I can understand why some people didn't make the connection to April fools...

I came in this morning to read this post and thought WTF! myself...

    It's April 2nd 14:14 where I am... Timezones can be a bitch.

    John:
I don't want to have to scrutinize every goddamn post on the 1st of April to figure out if its fake.

Really, you should be doing that every day, not just April 1st.

    John:
Same goes for news sites too. I expect the place to at least try to have some honest and integrity.

The mainstream print media mostly just prints the press releases they're fed these days, with a bit of sub-editing. Honesty and integrity went the way of the Dodo in favour of increased workforce productivity.

    John:
When I see fake crap they put up, it makes me question every damn thing I read there.

How is that a bad thing?

Analysis of these 247 comments confirms my theory that computer nerds love nothing better than pointing out flaws in other people's reasoning:

12 people posted variations of "Worst. Change. Ever."

104 people responded with variations of "Hey dumbbutt, it's April 1"

5 people pointed out that there sure are a lot of people explaining the obvious.

1 person explains it all. I win.

TRWTF is that the first of April ended over 15 hours ago for me and there's still discussion. And if you (attempt to) fool someone after midday doesn't that make you the fool? So you are all fools as of 27 hours ago.

    12 + 104 + 5 + 1 = 247 ?
