    April Fool joke?

  • Michael Thompson (unregistered)

    Alan, I hope that's sarcasm.

  • John Doe (unregistered)

May I suggest a new theme for The Daily WTH? I think those yellowish-green bars and buttons are still awful.

Here is what I would like to see: [image]

  • (cs)

But I like lolcats! Can we keep them?

  • Jon (unregistered)

The real WTH here is you didn't catch it was APRIL FOOLS PUNK!! hahhahahhaha awesome

I hope Alex is tracking the number of hits TheDailyWTH.com gets so we can have a good laugh.

My wife had just called to tell me there was a goat in our backyard. Seriously? I love goats but we live in the city/suburbs so I found it strange. Then she yelled that a dinosaur was eating it. We just watched Jurassic Park on Sunday.

My point being that I was in a skeptical mood when I read this article. I had to see if Alex actually went the extra mile and purchased thedailywth.com.

  • 18Rabbit (unregistered)

What is "a Living Heck" anyway? Shouldn't that be "When Life is like Living in Heck"? That's the real WTH.

  • Matti (unregistered)

This is an april fools joke right?!

    • points to date -.

    Good job mate ^^

Happy April Fool's to you too ;-)

  • JimM (unregistered)

I feel sorry for Alan; there he was, getting in the spirit, and everyone missed the point. I think it was his description of everything in the IT world being "okiedokey" that persuaded me he was playing along...

    April Fools

  • Rune (unregistered) in reply to Alan

    Cool!!!

I'm glad you too got fed up with the IT stuff... I was waiting 'till it got a more cuddly personality. I was thinking about deleting my feed, but now I'll keep it for sure.

You can also name it back to 'The Daily WTF' and let it stand for 'The Daily FiddelyDing-Dong'.

God.. I'm glad I checked the calendar.

  • johny (unregistered) in reply to KenW

    So do yours :)

  • Steve Hanler (unregistered)

    Ha Ha. April Fools perhaps.

  • (cs)

I just can't believe he went so far as to actually register thedailywth.com ... too funny; perfect gag for this site after all the hoopla over the name in the last year.

  • cthulhu (unregistered) in reply to Nerf

pfff you could have let it run a bit to see if anyone was taken in. There is no award for being the first one to expose it.

  • Anonymoose (unregistered)

I, for one, would like to chime in on the name-changing-hate band wagon. It's not profane now, I hope you're happy and will quick changing the god damn name. No one cares but you, so knock it the fuck off.

Also, the comics are really bad. To the point where I don't even look at those articles. If there's no punch line, it's not a comic.. so why would I read it? If you need an artistic outlet, that's fine, but keep up with the real articles.

Remember your customer base here. We're tech nerds who are looking for our daily dose of computer trickery. If you stray too far from that, you'd better attract a new audience or maybe your current audence's employer's time won't be worth it anymore.

    For fuck's sake.

  • Tim B (unregistered) in reply to Alan

Can somebody censor this post please? I was teaching my cat how to read and now I can tell it really wants to drop an F bomb. Cats are hard enough to control as it is and if I had wanted to follow my pet around all day making sure it doesn't cuss I would have gotten a dog. Thanks for creating one heck of an entertaining site.

  • Jens (unregistered)

Finally, Good clean family entertainment you can trust! But what about calling it what the fudge? or perhaps the daily gosh darn it! Or any exclamation used by Professor Frink from the Simpsons.

  • sunbath (unregistered)

    It's the yearly WTF!

  • Disgruntled Long Time Reader (unregistered) in reply to Jayme Weaver McIntyre III

Please tell me this is a sick April Fool's joke... cause it aint fucking funny otherwise :(

  • (cs)

I LOVE the new changes, but can we add a clbuttic filter to these comments? Its extremely offensive that these people get to express their every thought!

  • sceptic (unregistered) in reply to Jayme Weaver McIntyre III

I call April Fools on this one.

    Shenanigans!

  • ElDoro (unregistered)

sorry .. but i would be glad if could stop renaming your website. "the daily wtf" is simply the best. thanks

  • Aprile Fool's Day? (unregistered)

Through out each of our career, there were always the moment that WTH just didn't cut it because what you saw right there just didn't deserve any politeness (including the person who did it).

I am sorry but this rename sounds more like an April Fool's joke to me, because I was saying to myself "WTH" (not WTF, mind you, as there IS a difference).

Ok, I'll stick with this theory to help me sleep through tonight.

  • ElDoro (unregistered) in reply to ElDoro

    ahh .. damn ... 1. april. i'm a fool :-)

  • Pyr0 (unregistered)

    WTF M8 !!!!

What I really want to know is: Where can I go to request stickers bearing the new logo and site name? ;)

nah - it's funny watching people get worked up, consider it a meta-April Fools

  • KillerConsultant.com (unregistered)

It was about time! I cannot count the occasions in which I thought "enough with the elaborate information on programming mishaps and project disasters! ME NEEDZ MO KITTENZ!" ... and then I was utterly sad to find the only emotion-bearing thing be the smiley in the logo, while my brain already started tickling in a bad way because it received unusual amounts of that so-called "intelligent humor" (which sounds nonsensical to me) on this site.

Nevermore! This really is a noble move. You should all be proud of yourselves and celebrate by purring like a cat. In public.

  • Brian (unregistered) in reply to Alan

We'll have to mark this date in history...

  • Guy (unregistered) in reply to Alan

    Ummm... April 1.

  • johny (unregistered) in reply to Anon

If joke is something what make you smile after you have understood, then this is not a joke (at least it didn't work for me). Maybe next year, the same time :)

  • HeLLQc (unregistered) in reply to Alan

What date are we anyway... oh yeah April first...

  • tim (unregistered)

    yawn :)

  • Shane (unregistered)

And here was I hoping this was another April Fools, in all honesty I use the acronym WTF everyday - WTH just sounds lame. Why oh why do people change things...

  • Anonymous Coward (unregistered)

Come on, I just started reading a few days ago, I haven't even got an account, and you're already changing the name AGAIN???

    I MEAN

    FOR FUCK'S SAKE

    Oops, sorry.

  • Anonymous Coward (unregistered)

Yay!! Cute kittens! I absolutely love them!

I agree with the change of name... Now I can talk about this site with my grandma :)

    Love and kisses!!

  • (cs)

Given the fiasco with the real name change a while back, I think this would have been better if you went the other way. I think that "The Daily What The Cunt" has a ring to it.

The people that are being taken in obviously aren't reading the comments. Plenty of people taking it WAY to seriously.

(wait, that described the real name change too...)

  • LKM (unregistered)

So the comic strip was an April Fool's joke all along, right?

  • Richard Wolterink (unregistered) in reply to KillerConsultant.com

    What day is it today?

  • PETA (unregistered)

I'm sorry, but I must protest your horrific plans to take advantage of cats. People need to understand that the senseless exploitation of animals must cease. While one would have hoped that with all your apparent "knowledge" you would have known better, but alas that does not seem to be the case. We can only hope you choose to reverse your decision within 24 hours or suffer what will surely be an onslaught of protest from those who believe that cute little pussies should not be exploited and abused for your pleasure.

  • John (unregistered) in reply to shadowman

Point taken. I am just tired of having to take everything, and I mean EVERYTHING with a grain of salt on April Fools Day because some people think its funny to post fake news articles, or do stuff like this.

Is it because I am a humourless individual? I hope not. Is it because I've already been duped by a couple fake things today which either got me excited or riled up, only to find out it was a stupid joke? Most likely.
